Here I am writing yet again! I hate to write, you just never know who is actually taking the time to read it…so I just figure that no one will…why would I be so interesting anyways! I had to cancel two courses in the last couple of weeks. One being a workshop that was suppose to happen and we had a ‘flash blizzard’ in my town. Yes a blizzard, forecast was for 2 feet of snow or something like that….good grief. I went over and over in my head whether I should cancel or go through with the class. I knew that perhaps people were coming from out of town for this workshop and I worried about that. Although according to my assistant I didn’t have the phone numbers for these people…yea I know, get another assistant! Sigh, anyways, it was around 1230am and I’m looking out of my window and could barely see the lamp post…so I decided to cancel and sent out emails to everyone….well not everyone was understanding. There was one person who sent a terrible email, sent out of frustration I’m sure but it was mean just the same and it’s ok as I can understand there position with it.
The other class I had was fully booked. Over the last week I had 5 people cancel, some were good excuses and some were not but again, it’s there choice. The on the very day of this class I had two others cancel. Meaning there would only be one person attending, so it was canceled. I do not like to make people pay in advance for anything and prefer to just go with the flow and allow people to pay once they arrive, making things very easy for everyone. But I’ve been told and told again to get at least a deposit…ugh, that’s sooo much trouble. I am going to see what the next few months brings and go from there. If this keeps happening, then I will need to take a look at it. It makes it difficult on both ends.
On a better note, my children all seem to be doing well and not sick anymore….(knock on wood). Everything appears to be back to normal once again.
Let me know please what you would like to see me offer for classes, workshops, seminars, galleries etc. It gives me an good idea of what is wanted! I’ve also been thinking of traveling again to Edmonton and Calgary and perhaps Winnipeg, but I hate to drive…perhaps I’ll fly this time.
