Hollywood Epidemic or Worldwide Epidemic

On December 10th, 2010 I wrote a blog about Allison Dubois and her devil like appearance on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.  Her hair isn’t red just because of genetics people and that dimple of hers is probably from the stress of trying not to bitch slap everyone that annoys her!  You can read that blog by clicking here and also watch the episode.  Also continue to read the comments section to read a lovely section from a friend of Allison’s.  Feel free to leave a comment of your own.

But before you go to read that…most recently I’ve been quoted in Entertainment Weekly about Camille Grammer being “emotionally unsatisfied”!  Is being emotionally unsatisfied a Hollywood epidemic or a worldwide epidemic!
It’s not just Kat Von D and Camille Grammer who go nuts from losing themselves in relationships, but we’re talking about regular everyday housewives dammit!

People tend to blame being emotionally unsatisfied on other things, including their significant other.  I believe you need to identify your most important emotional needs first, then learn how to express and request.  Never assume another can figure it out or that it’s their job to know what these needs are.

When your mind is frazzled and stressed, and your emotions are taking over your thoughts and affecting your everyday activities, it’s time to take a step back, take a deep breath, and relax.  Of course focusing on your physical health is crucial, but so is treating your mind and spirit to the same attention.  Your happiness goes a long way in protecting your overall well-being.

Emotions are one aspect of a person’s health that often get neglected.  But if your emotional health is suffering, your physical health will too.

Your emotional health is just a term for how you feel — your overall happiness and well-being.  Are you stressed? Unhappy? Unsatisfied? Worried and anxious? Then your emotional health needs some serious attention, or your body will start paying the price and so will your life pathway – it will take a nosedive.

Happiness and Well-Being: How It Feels

Being emotionally healthy is a huge plus. People with good emotional health:

  • Believe that there is a good balance to their life between leisure time, activity, and work
  • Feel good about themselves, and don’t suffer from self-esteem issues
  • Believe that there is a purpose to their lives
  • Are able to accept changes better and just go with the flow
  • Enjoy living, and know the value of fun and laughter
  • Have less stress, and are better equipped to deal with stress
  • Have better relationships with others
  • Are contented with their lives

“Many of us, women especially, have the irrational belief that caring for ourselves or putting our own mental and emotional health first is selfish, women are reared to be caregivers and usually put themselves last.”

So what do we do about it, Camille are you listening?
Make a decision to do something nice for yourself every day and stick to it.

Other rituals might involve:

  • Make time for laziness. You don’t have to be constantly on the go — that’s how you get run down. Spend a little time each day or each week doing something you enjoy that is completely frivolous.
  • Exercise.
  • Spend some time in the sun.
  • Deal with your emotions. Learn how to properly deal with stress, anger, and anxiety instead of keeping them bottled up inside.
  • Be healthy inside. This means avoiding junk food and sticking to a healthy diet. You should also steer clear of smoking, drug use, and too much alcohol.
  • Treat your senses.  Do little things that make you happy and stimulate your senses, like lighting a scented candle, buying some fresh-cut flowers, indulging in a massage, or treating yourself to your favorite food or drink.  This is what I call feeding your soul!
A really good book that I enjoy is called 10 Steps To Take Charge of Your Emotional Life by EVE A. WOOD, M.D.  You can find this book and purchase at Hay House.

Can Lindsay Lohan Play Victoria Gotti?

So there is a ‘rumor’ that Lindsay Lohan may play the younger version of Victoria Gotti.  Can Lindsay Lohan Play Victoria Gotti?
What a stupid question, Lindsay Lohan ‘s association with crime isn’t quite over yet, who best to play this role.  From what I hear, the troubled star is in “final talks” to play Victoria Gotti in Gotti: Three Generations = brilliance.  I love it!  Of course Lohan will get the part, doesn’t take a psychic to ‘figure’ that one out.  Gotti is a close friend of the Lohan family and what Gotti wants, Gotti gets.  Hahaa, I always wanted to say that!

I’m a reality TV junkie, so I use to watch Growing up Gotti on A&E.  It opens up a world that we are curious about.  Victoria Gotti is actually an emotional woman who wants what everyone else does, success, peace and happiness.  She has a tough outer exterior that I call the presentation, it is what she tries to use to protect herself from others.  She has walls built up around her, this is like the moat around a castle.  When you unzip her and expose the inner soul of Victoria, she is warm and sticky….a true purring cat who wouldn’t hurt a fly unless you messed with her kittens.  It feels like she is also on and off with a relationship.  I would tell her to drop the jerk and move on, but that’s for another blog post.

Lindsay Lohan is trying to find her spot in the world, growing up in the spotlight where all her mistakes are amplified.  She has an addictive personality which means she deals with her emotions in an addictive way. Some people use drugs, alcohol, food or money to cover the unpleasant emotions.  I feel Lohan has used pretty much all of the above and then some. Lindsay hasn’t fully grown up yet, who really does?  But she is needing to learn how to deal with what is handed to her in life without shutting down. She is not the most patience person I ever saw and she gets bored easily, not a great combination.  This is all fine and she probably knows all this but what does she do with it.  If you already know what your down faults are then learn to control them.  Listen to that ‘gut’ instinct or intuition and follow through with them.

The bottom line is the role will be great for Lindsay’s career but it won’t stop her from destructive behaviors.  It isn’t time yet, meaning she hasn’t ‘learned’. She will be watched like a hawk by media and stories of her behavior during the filming of this role will be played out in the public eye….most won’t be true.  We will see Lohan eventually screw up big time after this role landing her in jail for a stint but life for her after this stint will begin to smooth out.

Teen Mom 2 = Reality…HUH?!

My name is Barb Powell and I’m a reality TV junkie and yes I admit, I watch Teen Mom 2!!  What’s not to like about it….it’s sweet, salty and sometimes leaves a bitter after taste, but always makes you want more.

I’ve heard all the comments and opinions on such pregnancy shows.  Just recently Kim Kardashian blogged, “It seems that shows like ‘Teen Mom‘ are all of a sudden making teen pregnancy seem cool in the eyes of young girls. The kids from these shows are all over the news, even on the covers of magazines, and have been become almost like celebrities, but girls, these are not people you should idolize!”
Seriously?  Even my 12 year old knows that teen pregnancy isn’t ‘cool’ due in part to watching this show.  It’s something I use to teach, kinda like showing your teen a book on venereal diseases and saying having sex can cause this!! It helps open the subject to show how difficult a teen pregnancy can be.

Well this now brings me to the train wreck called Jenelle Evans & mom Barbara Evans!  Barbara keeps asking what she’s ever done to deserve such a daughter as Jenelle Evans.  Jenelle has been known to steal her mother’s credit card and spend it on a trip with her boyfriend, smoking pot while pregnant, leaving her son with her mother to go out partying, shoving her mother and beating up a so called friend!
Despite Jenelle’s protestations, she did lose custody of her son to her mother Barbara Evans (57).  On June 10, 2010 Jenelle signed over “primary legal custody and primary physical custody” to Barbara.  Now we turn to Jenelle’s mom Barbara who has called her daughter unlovable, has troubling  finding three things that are positive about her daughter.  On the MTV show, Barbara is shown constantly screaming  at Jenelle and trying to gain control of situations.

I think they’re both bat crap crazy, but I would tell Barbara that the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree!  I’m not excusing Jenelle’s behavior but for the love of all that’s holy, stop screaming at your child…especially in front of your grandchild.  She already knows right from wrong, you don’t have to drive it down her throat.  Listen to her, really hear her….don’t defend your actions or try to be right.  Raising a child isn’t a competition and if it was, you’d surely receive an F for fail!

Jenelle, grow up we all know how your mom is but that as well isn’t an excuse. There is only one person that you can count on in your life and that is you! Ignore your mom when she yells.  Don’t throw wood on the fire such as trying to defend yourself or reason with her.  It won’t work when a person is already in a heightened state of anger.  The fire will only burn brighter.

Predictions: Barbara’s health isn’t that great.  I would be surprised if she didn’t have issues with blood pressure and anxiety.  I see a trip to the hospital in her future.  She will find that her children keep coming back to her and be used and abused.  Stop the cycle!
Jenelle will continue to draw controversy.  Both of these people have good energy and tons of potential but they need to pay attention to themselves instead of each other.  Jenelle will drop out of school if she hasn’t already with the idea of going back later when things ‘calm’ down.

I hope someone out there will offer them family counseling!

2011 Predictions

Listen to more celebrity predictions here:

Allison Dubois (the show Medium is very loosely based on her ‘work’)- is trying to work towards her own reality TV show and she will get it.  Seems she wants to move more towards acting.  Reality TV is more her thing.  She will move into the background and disappear in the next year or two.

Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough will not marry.  Although there is potential for marriage as I keep going back and forth, I just can’t see the marriage. I feel they each think about it and hint but I do not see this relationship coming together to be legal in marriage.  There is an uproar between them and Ryan will move on.  He isn’t about to marry someone just because he feels pressured to do so, he is busy and when it comes to having a family of his own he would want to spend time with them.  Right now he is setting a platform for this foundation of family.  I don’t see him settling for another 2 years, but it won’t be with Julianne.

Jennifer Aniston is unlucky in love.  Well yes and no, she just can not find the right person that fits with her personality.  She needs someone that can give her the freedom and attention she seeks.  I see her adopting a baby before being married.

Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris – seriously?  This is a stunt if I ever saw one. This isn’t a serious relationship, but more like a friendship with weird benefits. Oh come on, like if you weren’t in the same place as Hugh you wouldn’t do the same thing!!

Lindsay Lohan will focus on her career this year and land a large role which will kick start her career.  You will see her land big interviews of her talking about her struggles.  She will fall again though, relationships are a huge issue for her.

Large earthquake will hit which will greatly affect the California area.

Nicole Kidman will become pregnant with her second child 2011.

Singer Beyonce announces her pregnancy.

Allison Dubois & Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

I just have one thing to say about this week’s “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” Allison DuBois! WHATEVER!  She is one crazy medium, psychic, if that’s what she portrayed on the show.

I believe the dinner table fight will go down in history in the Real Housewives franchise. Epic.  Allison basically sat there and spewed venom at Kyle Richards while sipping her giant martini and smoking her electronic cigarette.    Allison Dubois came off so BADLY when she gave Kyle a reading about how her husband would never emotionally satisfy her.

Obviously there was tension between those two, but Allison should have kept that reading private.  Then for Allison to state she knows when Kyle would DIE!!  C’mon! There are certainly feelings that a psychic/medium would be aware of if someone were sick or certain points where bad things can happen, but there is no way you can confirm an absolute “death” for someone.  That made me sick.  That’s like saying “move over Jesus, Allison has arrived”.
There have been many clients that have come through my door worried that they only had a few months to live because some psychic medium said so!  I suppose that could be true if the psychic was trying to scare the client to death. Irresponsible!

Allison made a big deal about “having a girl’s night,” and not working, even though Lisa Vanderpump wanted to see a few of Allison’s party tricks, but tried to lure us all in by explaining that she’s been on Oprah and that people can’t get enough of her once they taste her.  I guess someone forgot to check their ego at the door, or perhaps it went flying out the window while swigging cocktails like they were water.  This is how Psychics and Mediums get a bad reputation.  Talk about a bad attitude with a twist of viciousness = bat crap crazy.

Hey Allison, control your emotions…eh.  I’m not saying Allison doesn’t have talent, don’t get your thong in a knot…I’m sure she has the potential for being nice…just as I am sure Perez Hilton can be, oh Queen Of Mean.

Here are some of my thoughts on the show and one of the ladies.  I feel like Camille isn’t intentionally mean, but she is a bit delusional.  She is one of those women that think that every other woman is jealous of her.  That is the way that she explains any sort of conflict between her and the other women. Camille, darling…own what’s yours…don’t blame everyone else.  Perhaps realizing that you are in part creating the conflict as well, would be a good start.  I don’t know you personally, but I do feel you have great energy and probably give more than you get.  It makes you exhausted doesn’t it?  I would love to tell you what I hear from Spirit about you, but unlike some psychics and mediums, that I won’t mention because I have class…I’ll do it in private!

I know about Television and the “drama” and what it requires.  But I truly believe that Allison was completely over the top and a fame “wanna be”, because no self respecting psychic/medium would ever talk and act that way.  We don’t always agree with what the client may say, but we are here to dispense positive energy.  Even in the  light of negative energy.  A skill like ours is a terrible thing to waste Allison.

Have a great day.
